“Pepe and Will” is a play starring English playwright, poet and sonneteer William Shakespeare and Filipino poet, novelist and our very own national hero Jose Rizal. In the land of Poiein, a sanctuary where poets rest after death, a ruckus erupts from a heated argument between Jose Rizal and William Shakespeare, commonly known as, Pepe and Will. The headmistress, Mathilde, is furious. Pepe and Will are banished from Poiene and are tasked by Mathilde to create a play – a masterpiece, before the hourglass runs out. If they don’t finish in time, both their names shall be erased from history, forgotten. After having been cast out from Poiene, Pepe and Will find themselves in the Philippines, in the company of a young bookworm and avid Harry Potter fanatic, Julie. After a series of failed attempts at creating a play, Julie decides to help them finish their masterpiece by showing them how the 21st century works, presenting to them bestselling novels and touring them around the city. During the course of this, Pepe and Will eventually find the inspiration to start writing together. Ultimately, the play is about to be finished, but the hourglass is also running out. How will Julie help secure Pepe and Will’s name in the history books?
